Here is a bit of my history but in my own words versus the one written for general release found earlier on my site. I was born in Dallas, TX. And would in the early '60's move to East Texas where I would attend high school and eventually college on a music scholarship. After college it would be about a year of fun, mischief, and a pretty bad motorcycle crash that would allow fate to chart my course toward photography.
I began in 1974 and would become a big fish in a very small pond fairly quickly. It was around 1977 that I began photographing women and also the year I submitted a young lady to Playboy magazine for the very first time. And although I received a rejection letter (see letter) which would later hang in my Playboy office, it would be another three years before I would become a staff photographer and move to Chicago. In 1987 I decided it was time to leave the staff and the magazine's corporate offices and took on a title change of Contributing Photographer. Since January 1990, I have lived in Los Angeles, CA., which remains my home. The climate, attitudes, locations, and concentration of creative people living here makes it the best place for me to continue to grow. I am now pursuing more advertising, editorial, and fashion work as much as I can. And with my B&W project, to try to do more self-fulfilling projects I guess you could say. But most importantly to just have fun. Maybe I've just reached that place where I need to smell the coffee again...
So with that said, I'm also a driving instructor/racer for BMW CCA. Which means if I'm not shooting some model on any given day, more than likely you'll find me in the driver's seat of my BMW M3 at some racetrack or on some curvy road. Now you might notice the three buttons below. Each will take you through photographs that marked a significant time for me. There are a few "behind the scenes" photos that will give you a glimpse of what that was like. Plus, some pictures of me with a few famous folk, as well as a few "goof-ball" photos that have lingered in a "shoebox" all these years. I hope they will make you smile as much as they have for me. Enjoy.
